According to Cardinal, couples who are in a second marriage are in an “irregular situation”
The Cardinal of Lisbon, the Portuguese capital, D. Manuel Clemente wrote a document to the faithful Catholics who have united with someone again after a break in marriage. He asks that these people remain without sexual relations to be admitted to the religious community, reports O Globo .
The verdict was made in the name of the sacraments of the Church. If the faithful fail to obtain the role that annuls the previous marriage, the couple will be “in an irregular situation” and, according to the Church of Portugal , should remain without practicing sex. Otherwise, they can not confess or participate in the Eucharist, for example.

The cardinal also said how people who have married a civilian second time can regulate access to the sacraments.
Some may be reinstated through greater community presence or participation in prayer groups. Mr. Manuel Clemente argues that each case should be analyzed exclusively.
