She suffered physical and psychological violence from her companion and for a long time could not talk about what had happened. Not even the therapy made it open easily. And breaking the barrier and realizing that you are in a violent relationship is not easy.
She herself could only leave this man when she came in contact with a woman who passed by her. “I was able to get him out of my life after I had contact with another woman who was a victim of domestic violence,” he says.
In order not to let others go through situations like hers without protection, Isabela has created a network that gives legal support to those who need to fight against violence. “As a result of this relationship, I founded, together with other women, the DeFEMde Feminist Network of Jurists ,” he says. “This joint that was created was very important for my own healing process because suddenly I saw women very similar to me who had been through situations very similar to mine. I thought I was alone, I thought that had only happened to me, “she says.
